93pts James Suckling

Floral with expressive fruit, giving aromas of fresh apricots, peaches, orange oil, lavender and wet stones. The palate is textural and rounded, with bright acidity and a smooth, generous mouthfeel that finishes full of flavor and lovely freshness.

Winemaker Notes

The wine has a pale straw hue with flecks of pewter, hinting at its mineral edge. The vibrant aromatics leap from the glass, showcasing fresh white nectarine, white peach, zingy lime, white floral blossom, jasmine, and honeysuckle, with a gentle musky perfume lending lift and sophistication. On the palate, the wine is lithe and buoyant, driven by fresh, bright acidity that gives shape to its generous fruit. Flavors of white peach, nectarine, and honeydew mingle with hints of fresh pineapple and candied lime zest. A supple, creamy texture and light sur lie character brings a soft roundness, while a whisper of white lanolin, beeswax, and delicate honeycomb adds depth. The finish is dry and refined, marked by almond skin, white pepper, and subtle cardamom spice, with just a touch of brioche toastiness from the delicate oak influence. It closes with a savory, stony flintiness.

Our Viognier is sourced from select vineyards in the Carneros and Oak Knoll AVAs. Located in the southern part of Napa Valley, these cooler vineyards are optimal for growing Viognier, providing sufficient sun exposure for ripening and cool marine fog for maintaining natural acidity. The Viognier planted at these Carneros and Oak Knoll vineyards showcase flavor complexity and refined aromatic expression, ideal for our bottling.
